Q What is The Opera Stage?
A The Opera Stage exists to make the life of freelance opera professionals easier. We are here to provide you with all the connections and directory information you need for the opera industry, and to keep you up-to-date with all the openings available for you to find work that are out there. You will be visible to agents and companies who use the site, and you can find the contacts you need. We aim to be the only site you need as you plan and advance your career.

Q How do I join The Opera Stage?
A It’s simple! Simply click on Register in the menu bar, or on the relevant column in the pricing table on the homepage. You can choose between a Basic Membership (Free), or Premium Membership on a Rolling Monthly Subscription or a 12 Month Subscription. The 12 Month Subscription saves you money as it comes with two months free but it requires a single payment instead of monthly.

Q What does a Basic Membership (Free) of The Opera Stage include?
A When you register as a subscriber, you will also have access to all our opera industry directories, which you can view whether you are logged in or not. When you log in you can complete your Artist Profile which is displayed and searchable in the Artist Directory. You will also be able to access all Jobs Board information about unpaid opera jobs, competitions and young artist programmes.

Q What about if I upgrade to a Premium Membership?
A If you upgrade to a Premium Membership you will be able to access information about paid jobs on the Jobs Board, as well as receive the daily email bulletin we send out with all new jobs & auditions. You will be able to customize the posting included in your daily bulletin by specifying the type of jobs and the voice type in your newsletter control panel. You will also be eligible to take part in our agency panel auditions which will be held at least once a year in Berlin, London, Paris and New York.

Q How do I take part in the Agency Panel Auditions?
A We organize auditions several times a year for our singers to sing to a panel of agents in Berlin, London and New York. You can apply to take part if you are a Premium Member by emailing us with your CV at admin@theoperastage.com with the city you would like to audition in. We will get back to you as soon as the date of the next round of auditions is confirmed with your time and slot. If there are two many applicants for that round you will get a slot in the next round of auditions.

Q What does a Premium Membership of The Opera Stage cost?
A We have two options for singers to join as Premium Members, depending on your needs (all prices in Euros): €14/month – Monthly rolling subscription. Cancel at any time, no questions asked. €140 for 12 months (pay for 10 months, get 2 months free) – single payment

Q Are there any requirements to be accepted as Premium Member?
A We ask that you have one of the following: *Recognized music education at a university or conservatoire *At least one professional singing engagement *Audio or video file. If there is no info about you online at all, we may email you for some proof or information. This is simply to keep our site secure.

Q How do I post an opportunity?
A If you have an opportunity for singers, log in on your account and post it to our Jobs & Auditions board from your control panel to make sure singers see it as soon as possible. Include all the details in the form and they can get in touch with you directly. Your posting will be quickly assessed for suitability by The Opera Stage team, following which it will appear in our listings, and be sent out in our daily bulletin to Premium Members.

Q Do I have to pay to post an opportunity?
A No, your post to our Jobs & Auditions board is free of charge.

Q What sort of openings can I post?
A We are quite happy for you to post any relevant openings for singers, including teaching work, opera chorus positions, choral, church singing, concerts, masterclasses, courses, extras in film, cruises, singers for recording, crossover/show positions, and more.
